Dutch-Argentinian soprano Ana-Carmen Balestra is celebrated for her clear, expressive voice and radiant stage presence. She made her recital debut at the Wigmore Hall in London after winning the Silver medal as a graduate student at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. During the 2024/2025 season, she was a Young Artist at the National Opera Studio in London, where she performed with the English National Opera, Welsh National Opera, and Scottish Opera.
Ana-Carmen is the winner of the Grachtenfestival Prize 2026, one of the most important awards in the Netherlands, and will be the festival’s Artist in Residence for the upcoming season. At Garsington, where she was an Alvarez Emerging Artist, she received the Simon Bach Award for her performance as the first orphan in Der Rosenkavalier and her cover role of Cecily in The Importance of Being Earnest by Gerald Barry. She was also one of four finalists in Dutch Classical Talent 2025, which led to her own recital tour across 14 major theatres in the Netherlands, and has since been selected as an EFFEA Artist, touring Bratislava and Hungary this summer together with Hadewych van Gent and Vitor Noah.
