Misa a Buenos Aires - Martín Palmeri

Kamerkoor Sjanton presents Misa a Buenos Aires, also known as Misatango, by Argentine composer Martín Palmeri. This contemporary work blends traditional Latin Mass texts with the rhythms and melodies of the Argentine tango, creating a fusion of classical and Latin American musical traditions. The choir is accompanied by the Orquesta Tango Nuevo, featuring renowned musicians Roger Helou on piano and Santiago Cimadevilla on bandoneon. The program also includes a cappella choral settings of poetry by Spanish-language poets such as Pablo Neruda and Federico García Lorca, set to music by contemporary composers. The performances will be held on Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon at the Tuindorpkerk in Utrecht.
